The Alliance Française Edward Chalom Scholarship

In memory of a dear AFD/FIM member and his dedication to the French Language and Culture, the AFD/FIM will annually award a scholarship to a High school Student who will pursue a French program in College :
The Alliance Francaise Edward Chalom Scholarship.

In the amount of $500 in awarded annually by the Alliance Française de Detroit/French Institute of Michigan to one high school senior per year who is a resident of Macomb,Oakland, Wayne or Washtenaw County and who is planning to continue their study of French at a post-secondary level.

In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be non-native French speakers enrolling in French coursework beyond the introductory level in their freshman year at college or university. Courses in classical civilization will not be accepted. In addition, the high school teacher of the winning student will be awarded $50.

Please complete the application and submit it along with the required essay, current transcript and two letters of recommendation, one of which must be your French teacher, by the submission deadline of March 6th, 2020.
